The 2016 / 2017 season is the first time this shield was played for. It is played for by teams from division 1.  It is a singles competition and two players are permitted to play from each team. The players cannot be anyone who played in the singles or doubles that season. There is a fee charged for entry which is donated in full currently to the Hospice in Raheny. The charity is decided at the AGM of the league. To date we have donated 8,736 euros to the hospice.

The shield commerates Pat Keegan who was a great supporter of the league and played with the Ayrfield club winning league titles.
